Veolia Water, the water division of Veolia Environnement, has signed a contract with Vodokanal, the St. Petersburg water company, to build a sludge treatment plant for the North St. Petersburg wastewater treatment plant.
Revenue from the contract totals €52 million for Veolia Environnement, out of a total amount of €70 million for the entire plant.
The sludge treatment plant will employ VE's advanced technologies in three incinerators, including flue gas treatment that complies with the strictest European standards, and a co-generation system.
The plant will be commissioned in 2006.
