Our Partner's Mission Continues To Develop And Grow

 

Behind every amazing foundation is a mission and set of values that helps them to achieve their fullest potential. Recently, after a couple of years already working hard following a certain mission and instilling their values on everyone they interact with,  our partner, Krishna Gurung, of the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation, sat down to fully develop the written description of their mission and values.

Overview

In 2010, approximately 3,000 families in Papua New Guinea were displaced by a new Liquid Natural Gas extraction operation installed by Exxon Mobil.

The extraction operation displaced four distinct tribes, each with their own unique culture and traditions.  These four communities families are now living together in an open encampment just outside of Port Moresby, without access to clean water, sanitation, power, or adequate shelter.

Displaced communities, custom, highland traditions, organization, elders
Knowledge: 
Site/property design/layout, water depth, gravity usage, technology implementation

10 Resourceful & Creative Ways to Conserve H20

Many of us who live in the United States do not give much thought to the concept of conserving water. Instead, we choose to water our grass to ensure that it looks pretty throughout the Summer months, we endulge in bubble baths whenever we're stressed, and we let our children run through the sprinklers as long as they want to. Despite this, each of us should be more mindful about our water consumption.

Climate change is a problem in a world that is rapidly urbanizing. The magnitude of the problem is overwhelming.  By 2050, about 8 billion people are expected to live within one day’s travel of cities. We need to do more than we already are.
