L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its WESCAM subsidiary has been awarded a $110 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the U.S. Air Force. As part of this contract, L-3 will supply WESCAM's imaging turrets, including the electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) MXTM-15Di, accompanied with training courses and service programs.

This order is in addition to a $90 million ID/IQ contract that was awarded to WESCAM in December 2008. Combined, these two orders enable the Air Force to purchase a total of $200 million of WESCAM products.

FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Advanced training technologies for U.S. Special Operations Forces are to be supplied by CACI International under a $22 million task order.

The award, issued under the Global Battlestaff Program Support contract, is for one base year of performance with four one-year options.

Under the award, CACI will support the U.S. Special Operations Forces Planning, Rehearsal and Execution Preparation efforts by supplying advanced modeling and simulation data for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft.

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Lockheed Martin reports a new contract from the U.S. Air Force to upgrade weapons system trainers for C-130 aircrews.

The ATS II trainers involve simulation training as well as academic work. Under the contract, Lockheed will modernize the simulator imagery database and visual system. Enhancements will include cockpit illumination, and Lockheed said the latest infrared-enabled night-vision training devices will be supplied.

The system's visual databases will also be improved to match that of a new aircrew maintenance training system.

MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Capabilities of a force simulation training program are to be enhanced by SAIC under a $55 million U.S. Army award.

Under the award from Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Acquisition Center, Science Applications International Corp. will help implement enhancements to OneSAF -- One Semi-Automated Forces -- a computer-generated forces simulation covering a wide range of operations and systems.

Specifically SAIC will conduct modeling, engineering, development and test services on new concepts for the system.
