L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Nova Engineering subsidiary has been awarded a $52.8 million follow-on contract by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support the United States Marine Corps' Tactical Remote Sensor Systems (TRSS) program. Under this five-year award, Nova will provide equipment, upgrades and repairs, and program management services in support of the TRSS initiative.

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army has ordered more TIM 1500 thermal imagers from BAE Systems to support the service's Stryker and Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station programs.

The TIM 1500 is an uncooled, extended-range thermal system in the 7.5-14 mm spectrum band used for day and night surveillance, target acquisition and situational awareness for troops in a vehicle. It is designed for use with vehicle-mounted weapons.

DULLES, Va., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Contractor field support services of the U.S. Air Force's U-2 sensors data links will continue to be provided by Raytheon through a follow-on contract.

Under the $179.5 million award, the company will also continue to provide CFS services for the Distributed Common Ground System, a worldwide distributed, network-centric system that performs a variety of collaborative intelligence operations through the distribution of data.

TEWKSBURY, Mass., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- The first sale of the U.S. Theater High Altitude Area Defense missile system to a foreign country is a multimillion-dollar boon to Raytheon.

Raytheon reports it is to supply AN/TPY-2 radars, associated spares, training and other services through 2018 for the THAAD system sold by the Missile Defense Agency under a U.S. Foreign Military Sales deal.

SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has signed a contract worth over 17 million Euros
with the Italian Space Agency (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, ASI) for the development and
production of the SIMBIO-SYS instrument for the European Space Agency (ESA)’s
BepiColombo mission. The total value of contracts awarded to SELEX Galileo for the
SYMBIO-SYS exceeds 33 million Euros.
BepiColombo is an unmanned mission to Mercury to observe the planet and surrounding
environment, and is one of the cornerstones of the ESA's long-term science programme. The
