Bombardier Transportation and Israel Railways (ISR) have signed a framework agreement for the delivery of double-deck coaches, which includes a firm order for 78 coaches. Optional batches are foreseen. The order value of this firm order amounts to 132 million euro ($185 million US).

The vehicles will be manufactured at Bombardier Transportation’s Görlitz facility in Germany and in Israel.

Bombardier Transportation announced today that it has received an order for 100 MultiLevel commuter rail cars from the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJ  TRANSIT).  The contract is valued at approximately $267 million US (210 million euro) and includes options for up to 79 additional vehicles.

The order represents Bombardier’s second contract with NJ TRANSIT for this type of vehicle. Under a 2003 contract, Bombardier provided 329 MultiLevel vehicles now in successful operation at NJ TRANSIT.

Chennai Metro Rail Limited has signed with Alstom Transport a €243 million contract to supply 168 cars for the metro of Chennai in India. Russian railroad construction company Mosmetrostroy together with an Israeli partner has won a tender to construct a high-speed railroad between Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, Israeli business daily Calcalist said on Friday.
Mosmetrostroy and the Israeli engineering company Minrav will lay one of the four railroad sections over 40 months.
The work will include constructing two parallel tunnels through a mountain, three and a half kilometers long.
The contract is estimated at 647 million Shekels (around 170 million dollars.)
