The U.S. U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic tapped SAIC for support services for the Navy's anti-terrorism/force protection systems.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract given the company and six others by SSC Atlantic is for one year, with four one-year options. The contract's total value is about $224 million.

"We look forward to providing SSC Atlantic with world-class physical security and force protection capabilities where security is of high or vital interest," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Systems Field Support (SFS) division was awarded a competitively-bid contract from the U.S. Army to provide life-cycle contractor support (LCCS) for C-12, RC-12 and UC-35 aircraft. The five-year contract, with options, will exceed $440 million and is managed by the Army's Fixed Wing Product Management Office from PEO-Aviation, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

Maintenance and logistics support for rotary aircraft at Fort Rucker in Alabama is to be provided by L-3 Communications.

The New York company said the award from the U.S. Army Contracting Command -- Redstone, on behalf of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command has a 1-year period of performance with four one-year options.

If all options are exercised, the contract's total value would be an estimated $1.98 billion.

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- South Korea has given Boeing a five-year, performance-based logistics contract for sustainment of the country's F-15 fighter aircraft.

Under the award from South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration, Boeing will provide the South Korean air force with integrated supply chain forecasting; coordinated procurement of production and spare parts; contracting of suppliers; and implement efficient delivery processes in collaboration with customer maintenance depots and local industry.

The contract is worth $300 million.

MELBOURNE, Fla., Dec. 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force has contracted Northrop Grumman for integrated logistics support for maintenance of Joint STARS aircraft.

Northrop, under the 30-month, $540 million award for Total System Support Responsibility contract, will partner with the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center.

The two will support the 116th Air Control Wing at Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia, where the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System fleet is based.
