L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Warrior Systems – Insight Technology unit has been awarded a $50 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract for Binocular Night Vision Devices (BNVD) for use by the U.S. Special Operations Command.

The equipment will provide special operations forces with enhanced surveillance, identification, recognition and detection capability in all light conditions, especially where vision is limited or restricted due to low light conditions.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has purchased 300 ProVision(R) ATD personnel screening systems for use at aviation checkpoints. The contract value of this order is $44.8 million and production of these units is underway. TSA is also in the process of upgrading 250 existing ProVision units deployed at 40 U.S. airports with the new image-free ATD software under a separate contract with L-3.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its Nova Engineering subsidiary has been awarded a $52.8 million follow-on contract by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support the United States Marine Corps' Tactical Remote Sensor Systems (TRSS) program. Under this five-year award, Nova will provide equipment, upgrades and repairs, and program management services in support of the TRSS initiative.

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that its WESCAM subsidiary has been awarded a $110 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract from the U.S. Air Force. As part of this contract, L-3 will supply WESCAM's imaging turrets, including the electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) MXTM-15Di, accompanied with training courses and service programs.

This order is in addition to a $90 million ID/IQ contract that was awarded to WESCAM in December 2008. Combined, these two orders enable the Air Force to purchase a total of $200 million of WESCAM products.
