Tenaga Nasional Bhd's subsidiary TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TNB Remaco) today signed an RM117 million long-term parts management contract with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. Under the three-year contract, Mitsubishi will supply new spare parts worth about RM107 million to the Tuanku Ja'afar Power Plant in Port Dickson, said TNB vice president, generation division, Mohd Nazri Shahruddin. TNB in 2005 installed two units of the Mitsubishi M701F gas turbines under a rehabilitation project at the plant.

Alstom has signed a contract worth over €20 million with the Ministry of Electricity in Iraq for the rehabilitation of Najaf power station, representing Alstom’s first Iraqi rehabilitation contract in a decade.

Alstom will carry out a fast-track rehabilitation at unit 1 of the power station, based at the holy city of Najaf, 160 km south of Baghdad. Built by Alstom in 1977, Najaf is a gas-fired power plant consisting of three GT13D gas turbines and with an overall output of 180 MW. The unit was damaged and has been out of operation for five years.

TGK-8 plans to build a 400 MW (megawatt) natural gas-fired gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation plant in the Krasnodar region on the Black Sea coast.

(MHI) has received an order for an 800 megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation system from ENMAX Green Power Inc., a subsidiary of ENMAX Corporation, a Canadian electricity provider. The GTCC power generation system is destined for the Shepard Energy Centre to be newly built near Calgary, Alberta, and slated to be online to serve the winter load of 2012. The highly efficient generation system will provide enough electricity for over half of Calgary's robust electricity demand.

PLN (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned electricity company. The project is to construct a new GTCC power plant on the premises of existing Tanjung Priok Power Plant, located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the central part of Jakarta, targeting expansion of the power station's generation capacity under a financing arrangement by Official Development Assistance (ODA) of Japan.
