Innovations Are Not The Only Material Which Can Be Included In A Commons System

Fruits and Vegetables. Hungry Americans become the new knowledge force behind the relationship between plants and climate change. By creating a new networking process where people who spend their day foraging for food can give researchers their observations the nonprofit Institute for Culture and Ecology hopes to "take advantage of the fact that people know this kind of information, but don't necessarily have a way of taking it to scientists." Their team hopes to collect data and notes on over hundreds of plants that are collected by America's foragers.

One could easily compare the process used by the Institute for Culture and Ecology to the Global Innovation Commons. The hungry American foragers are similar to inventors and their processes and thoughts on their work or food gathering is being shared with people globally to help them find easier ways to live.
